Week 1--Hope [Day 2 & 3]

So no updates yesterday, I was busy working on getting in a job application and finishing up my ACT stuff. Growing up sure is fun. [HUGEEE thanks to my Joey for helping me... couldn't have done it without you, kiddo.]

So Joey wanted me to do a speed painting. I tried, and failed miserably (or, at least I think so). But I wasn't done with everything. So I looked up some examples of graffiti lettering, and I just picked up a few things and wrote out my name. I slapped on some opposite colors for... at least some type of effect... I guess it didn't entirely work. Pleased with that, I put on my personal trademark, Siki's spot markings. That looked kinda cool, so I sketched my favorite lion character himself and added a few of his colors for even more effect. I think I might have over-done it, but I still like it for myself, and I guess that's what really matters, right? Slapped on my site name, and BAM, I've got a little banner for myself. [: I wanna think of a slogan now. xD

In other news, I'm finally starting to relax about everything. It feels nice... had a good first day back at school. I like it when I'm this happy. [:

Week 1--Hope [Day 1b]

..It has come to my attention that I need to think of more creative titles or something when I post... stuff.

Wow, I'm an interesting person.

So today I woke up to my best friend, Jordan, saying that she was watching Balto. Like, one of my most favorite movies ever. So I tried drawing Steele and Balto and even Muk (the smaller of the two polar bears), but I didn't really like any of my sketches, so I tried to draw the puppy of the sled dog team, Nikki. After all, the whole team brought hope to the town of Nome for the childen. (No, that's totally not corny!) I liked the sketch a bunch, so I kept it... and the other stuff. :P I'm quite impressed with myself (except for the colors--color selection is difficult in Sketcher and while the sun's right on your eyes). I think I got the style down, mixed with my own style.

Looked at college stuff a few minutes ago. Yayyyy growing up!

Pff, hopefully I won't die when school comes back up.

Week 1--Hope [Day 1]

The teenaged Anakin Skywalker undergoes training as he is believed to be the last hope of the Jedi. He is said to bring balance to the Force, destroy the Sith, and be all "YAYAYAYA CCB"

I could do a a little more human work. I don't really like what I draw with humans. xD But I guess if I'm looking at my improvement, better post everything, right? :P Sooo... here's to hope. [:

And there's Aang from "Avatar: The Last Airbender." (One of my favorite shows, kthnx.) Again, could do more with humans. I was surprised I didn't use a reference for either of the sketches... I just kinda went from my head. Though, Aang was based on a scene from season 3 (for you fans, it's when he's fighting Combustion Man and he has hair :P). Not really happy with it... at all... but again, improvement!

Start off the New Year

First post and stuff.

Herro, I'm Siki. I'm a resident of the U.S. and I have no clue how to use a blog so HAH.

I'm an artist-in-training. Using this blog to keep track of my progress--trying to branch away from Disney's "The Lion King" art and whatnot. Oh and I wanna keep track of my progress and stuff. :'D

Every week I'll be having a new topic to draw. And then... I'll... post the drawings here. xD I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY OKAY LAKSJ;LAKDA.

I'm optimistic, I love drawing, I'm good with advice, I'm a wonderful person to talk to, I have a dog, and right now, I'm very, very cold.

I hate winter.

Soooo... peace out cub scouts. :'D
